GPs & Practice Staff are increasingly faced with challenges to ensure their practices are up-to-date with the many legal, professional, and patient obligations that abound.

Aims

• Support GPs and Practice Staff to effectively manage a general practice. This includes providing education sessions, resources, practice visits and day-to-day assistance in topics such as:
   

  Accreditation Privacy Act Role of Practice Nurses Blended Payments including Enhanced Primary Careplans (EPC), Practice Incentive Program (PIP), Service Incentive Program (SIP)

• Assist practices with corporate human resource services, recruitment services and GP locum services.
• Support the employment, up-skilling and maintenance of a Practice Nurse. OGPN organises several Practice Nurse education activities throughout each year focusing on topics such as spirometry, asthma management, diabetes management, burns management and wound care management.
• Facilitate the improvement of the health and wellbeing of GP members.

GP & Practice Support Advisory Committee

The GP & Practice Support Advisory Committee has the role of providing advice, liaison and feedback to the GP & Practice Support Program Manager, Susie Lidstone.  The committee comprises of 4 GPs, 2 Practice Managers, 2 Practice Nurses and the Program Manager. Committee meetings are held on a quarterly basis to discuss possible education activities, resources and associated issues.
