Promoting Eating & Activity for Children’s Health (PEACH)
PEACH is an interagency committee with representatives from Osborne General Practice Network, Cities of Joondalup, Wanneroo and Stirling, the Child and Adolescent Community Health Division, West Coast District Education Office, Heart Foundation, The Cancer Council WA, WA School Canteen Association (Inc), and Nutrition Australia. It was established in response to the increasing incidence of children who are overweight or obese.
One of the successes of PEACH is the annual PEACH Showcase held in September. The showcase presents local initiatives that promote healthy eating and activity for children.
If you have any information on physical activity or healthy eating initiatives targeted at children you would like to promote to other agencies or staff working within the community, contact Paulina on 9208 9501 or paulinam@ogpn.com.au
