Nursing in General Practice PNMML covers over 90 general practices in the northern suburbs of Perth with approximately 130 nurses employed within these practices. PNMML aims to provide and facilitate training and education for nurses working in General Practice. Nursing in General Practice is currently one of the fastest growing areas of nursing in Australia. Nurses have been in General Practice for many years, however a combination of GP workforce shortages, an increase in elderly and chronic disease patients, has seen the role of these nurses expand and develop in exciting new ways over the last six years. Nurses in General Practice are now key members of the health team in almost 60% of general practices. |

The newsletter includes information pertaining to nursing education events both within the Medicare Local and state-wide, articles of interest to practice nurses and a section on the MBS ‘questions and Answers’.
